Delta Gamma does good.

Service for Sight

Since 1936, one of Delta Gamma’s top priorities has been its commitment to serving the blind and visually impaired. DGs are extremely committed to this cause and continue volunteering countless hours each year. Delta Gamma has partnered up with TOM’s in the past to raise awareness. In addition, Delta Gamma is currently partnered up with the Department of Defense, Veterans Administration, and other non-profits that work to aid blind or visually impaired service members to offer philanthropic aid through our existing grant program, as well as opportunities for DGs to volunteer and give of their time.

Blindness Support

As a UCR Delta Gamma, we are privileged to be able to volunteer at the Blindness Support Services Center in Riverside. We often create tactile cards for visually impaired or blind children as well as other crafts. We also volunteer at events such as Dining in the Dark, various carnivals, and Christmas parties put on by the center for the families it serves.

Each year, Delta Gamma chapters across the country host an event called Anchor Splash. This philanthropy event is a campus wide event that draws in other Greek chapters as well as non-Greek students to participate in a fun filled day. Teams compete in pool events such as relay races and create their own lip-syncing and dance routine. A month-long fundraising feat is celebrated at a day-long philanthropy event. This past year, we raised over $14,500 for service for sight!

Our sister Alex Reyes participated in Sigma Alpha Epsilon's first ever Miss Minerva Pageant at UC Riverside this year and won both the Miss Minerva title, as well as the Most Social title! All proceeds form this philanthropy event went toward the Children's Miracle Network. Thank you SAE for hosting such an amazing event!

Delta Queen

Our sister Jasmin Joya was crowned Delta Queen 2015 this past year in Delta Tau Delta's annual event held in support of the City of Hope Foundation. We are so proud of you Jasmin, and a huge thank you goes to Delta Tau Delta for hosting such a rewarding event to participate in!
